Vernal is now just a memory :(
Right before we left Vernal, we had a bunch of goodbye parties with all of our best friends. We loved it there.

Things they say to me...
Mason: (after nap today) "I had a good dream today. It was about you." :)
Emma: (at FHE tonight) "The Prophet is President Thomas S. Johnson"
Nathan: "You are a good mother. I know our children feel safe and comforted that you are here with them everyday. I'm glad you chose to be a mother who stays home." (heart melts)

My giant baby.
I refuse to acknowledge I will have a teenager this year. Every time Tyler talks about turning 13 this year, I tell him he will always be a giant baby to me. This boy grows. He is very choosy with his clothes now and I say I have a walking Nike commercial for a son. He rarely will let me take a picture but today he was willing. SOOO cute. (The poor kid invites a friend over and Hailey talks them into letting her paint their nails...)
Other daily happenings: took Ellie to the store and her hair appointment. Did a little precal homework, and prepared chicken cachatori and brownies for dinner.
Lovely!

"Laughing in the face of winter"
I read that title somewhere and realized that I want to laugh too. And with a husband who loves to play and fun athletic kids it's really quite easy to play all winter long. Nathan took Tyler and Hailey snowboarding and skiing at Sundance for the third time this winter. They both are great and have surpassed my ability on the slopes. I headed up midday with Emma and Mason to go sledding at Soldiers Hollow. Mason was not a fan. He scowled in the face of winter. Mexican food with Seth and Cami Kelson afterward. I learned he hunted a lion in Africa and said lion was now in their living room. Aye.
Close Call
Today in a shopping parking lot we were walking back to the car when Emma sees it and begins to run. SLOW MOTION: a girl on a motorcycle comes extremely fast RIGHT at her. She stops literally 3 inches from Emma who at the last minute also jumps out of the way. They were both very shaken and in tears. I'm thinking of this now and realize that while I do get shaky and scared at certain times, I was completely calm in this situation during and after. I couldn't realize why I had no fear, but I know see that it was the Holy Ghost letting me know she was protected at this moment.

The younger wierd ones:
Valentines Day
I'd like my posterity to know that Nathan Eaton is a darn good purse picker-outer. Totally surprised me with this, a dozen white roses and a private *wink wink* love note.
Mason and Evan
Masons best buddy is his cousin Evan. I take them to McDonalds once a week just to roughhouse and eat one fry and a bite of nugget. It's a "lunch date". :)

Sick
My Emma was a puking girl all last night. (5 times to be exact.) But the silver lining is that I sit. I sit in bed all day long (literally) right next to them. I watch them take naps throughout the day, give medicine, put cold rags on their heads and bring them water and snacks. I believe they enjoy waking up seeing me there every time as I try not to leave the room. It's an opportunity for them to feel love from their mama. Love amongst the vomit and boogers. :)
(Today is even a better sick day since Nathan took all the other kids to stake conference (haha) so the house is so peaceful and silent.)
