not much...

Just a family update. It has been awhile but for good reason. Last week we went to Las Vegas to watch Jamie open lots of baby girl clothes. That's right. 1100 miles, a parking ticket, 18 hours on the road with no husband, Las Vegas heat+air conditioning burnout, morning sickness and nasty snow storm all for my baby sister and my baby niece. I would not do it for anyone other than my sisters. I say sisters because we also stayed at Rachel's and "helped" (at least that was the plan, not sure if it happened) with her 100+ guest list combined-birthday-bash for husband Josh and Maddie. Good party times. Although the highlight was learning speed scrabble at Brian's house. "Stacey takes all" is how that game ended.
It is goofy that I am going to talk about the weather on this here blog, but I can't help it. I am absolutely surprised at the beauty here in Vernal. Experiencing the oven aka Las Vegas, and then traveling through snow/sleet/rain of Ceder through Strawberry, I drove into the most beautiful weather here. Cool crisp air and blue skies with really bright sun. It is gorgeous.
As far as pregnancy, I am now 5 months, and will not be posting any more "sole-y to show off the belly" pictures. I am huge!!!!!! Yet still throwing up occasionally. ???? I admit I do enjoy chocolate and ice cream on a daily basis, but still, there are carrots and bananas thrown in there somewhere......I am taking violin lessons from a fabulous teacher who travels in from the Wasatch Front every 2 weeks. I am surprised at how much she is teaching me and how I am progressing. I still love it, and Mom helped me buy a great violin that has been awesome to play on. I am such a believer in everyone trying to learn SOMETHING musical. What joy.
Tyler, Hailey and Emma are doing great. They are super smart, super nice and super kids in general. They love running around the fields in our backyard and make clubs, clubhouses and play games all day until dinner. They have lots of friends and are at the top of their classes. (Hey, it is a rat race in the 1st and 2nd grade).
Nathan is still hammering away at school and work. At this point I think he is golfing with his Dad. (It isn't ALL work). He has experienced "Guitar Hero" with Tyler and loves it. The whiny guitar and heavy metal really speaks to him. eeeeeeeeee. Give me some classical!!
Last but not least, little Jasper. He is a mighty 6 inches, getting slightly more pushy, and makes my body ache like no other pregnancy I have experienced. I feel like a mountain that must stay in one position all day because of the heaviness and achiness. And I am so so so tired. I am glad to be able to nap every day with little Emma. He is the boss of me at this point. We may have chosen a name that hasn't been talked about before. But some things can be left until that magical day of tearing, sweating, bleeding, epiduraling.... :)

10-9-98

Oh, and Happy 9th Anniversary to Nathan and I. We are already planning our 10th anniversary Hawaii trip next summer SANS KIDS, (somewhere between stopping breastfeeding and school starting.) For this happy anniversary we will celebrate by saying "Happy Anniversary". (I do get to go to storytime with the kids. Yes!)

It doesn't get cuter than this.

Sunday happenings.

15 minutes into conference, and the kids start their own "band". It was a good thing because Kyle was still asleep at that point, so I told them to go into his room and play for him. Worked great.

BUT, Hailey decides to keep practising, and practising, and practising, (*sigh), and pract....

This morning they had gross greasy hair because last night after I put them in bed, they decided to get out and have a Vaseline party, which entails smearing Vaseline all over every visible surface in the bathroom, (including skin and hair.) I was not too amused last night, thus no picture.

Singing like Ariel on the "stage".

Stuff for you

The Ewok twins are together again. Maddie came to Vernal to visit for awhile why Rachel gets a nice vacation. (This is great payback for all the times you took Emma!)

Gross oh gross. Tyler dragged this big styrofoam deer from the field behind our back yard. (Why can't he find a cool rock?) Of course it is the best play toy right now, except I have to keep reapplying the antlers.
If they aren't in the backyard playing "deer", they are in the tea-party corner with raisins and pretzels, (always raisins and pretzels). And they both have to wear a skirt and do their hair the exact same way.

Can you guess what daredevil act I did with them this morning at breakfast?.......

Oh I will be paying for this come naptime and bedtime....

Yes, I became so annoyed with dumb pacifiers in their 2-almost-3 year-old mouths, that when they both started to say "Paci's are yuck, we are big girls", I jumped at the chance. Before I lost nerve we cut up every silicone silencer we could find. They were so proud of themselves. We will see how this plays out. Rachel, you owe me for this. But I am not potty training both of them at the same time...
(Kyle just told me he is not ready for this.)

It is great to be 8.

Happy Birthday!

The blue boys. (They had to wear their school colors that day)

Handsome handsome handsome

Hailey's pouty look because she had the least points in the game. (They played games in the backyard with Nathan because I ran out of party games inside and we had a 1/2 hour left. Figures. Thank goodness for Nathan.)

Trying to catch the ball with a dollar inside.

Uhhhhhh.....(Nate is really a 10 year old in a 31 year old body).
