1st Day of Last Year of 1st Decade of 21st Century

Clever title right? Not even sure if it is correct. Anyway, this morning we were thrown back into schedules, crowds and alarm clocks. Good and bad in a way. We have Mrs. Christenson, Mrs. Nelson and Mrs. Hadlock for teachers, (all the ones we "picked"... yea!) and were up bright and early to make sure we were right on time. (Even 10 minutes early.) On the way over I received my rules from the older kids pertaining to my actions on the first day of school:

1) No singing.
2) No dancing.
3) No meeting the teacher as I was in my gym clothes with no makeup. (Tyler's rule)
4) No kissing, although one "I love you" was allowed.
5) Not too many pictures.
6) No crying.

I followed them ALL to a tee, although I did feel emotional as usual. :)

We are anxiously awaiting morning kindergarten next week, as Emma's best friend is in her class and her teacher is wonderful. (Neighbor and ward member so I know her well.) My To Do list today? Spend one on one time with the younger kids as that hasn't happened all summer, and make sure there are warm homemade chocolate chip cookies on the counter today. Life as a mom is awesome. :)
