After reading about my friend Kjersten's exausting day with her kids, I decided to add my own. It started with the inspector showing up at my house at 8:00 am, followed by taking Hailey to cheerleading, and then Hailey and Tyler to swimming lessons. With Tyler, Hailey, Emma, and cousins Maddie, Josh and Thomas, (yes that would be 6 kids and one crazy adult in the car) I decided to go into the car wash. I waited and waited for the red SUV to drive out of the car wash until I got so annoyed I walked into the car wash and looked in the car. There was a very old man passed out (I was hoping alive) in the front seat. I called 911 and opened the door ready to do CPR but he woke up and was really nervous. He sped off and I don't know the end of the story except that I assume he was on some medication and fell asleep at the wheel. SCARY and sad. But I had the 6 kids until the late afternoon, and then decided to go grocery shopping with the Ewoks, Maddie and Emma. Had a full cart, and realized I left my wallet at home. Had to carry the babies on each hip out to the car, return with the check book, and then came home. After FHE, dinner, Tyler ending up sick and asleep on my floor, and doing laundry and packing for Nathan to leave to Denver this morning, I was exausted!!!!
"Through (the) years, mothers go longer on less sleep and give more to others with less personal renewal for themselves than any other group I know at any other time in life. It is not surprising when the shadows under their eyes sometimes vaguely resemble the state of Rhode Island." -Jeffrey R. Holland
Rock on.
