"The Truth About Life's Great Questions is Now Restored"

I am digging it big time. This is the title of the new media ad that the LDS church is doing in a few cities across the United States. It is through the radio, billboard, t.v. ads, magazine ads, (I saw one in Time magazine) and moving billboards. I was able to see church headquarters' explanation and the commercials in my sister Rachel's ward this Sunday, and it makes me want to (finally)be a missionary. So on my flight home yesterday I promised I would try and start a conversation with one of the people I was sitting next to, and since Miss Snooze on my left was asleep even before lift off, I chose an older gentleman on my right. I have never been so scared in my life. I listened to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir for 45 minutes to give me some strength and tried at least 10 times to start a conversation. FINALLY, I said, "So, do you happen to be LDS?" Answer: "Yes, in fact I am a bishop". Oh my loveness, I cracked up. We talked for a long while and that was the extent of my "every member a missionary" experience. Some of the "questions of the soul" which are on the ad campaign are as follows, (and the answers-which are so foreign to me that other's don't know them-are found on www.mormon.org):

1)Does God really know me?
2)What's the purpose of this life?
3)Does God have more to teach us?
4)Could a young farm boy really have seen God?
5)Isn't everyone searching for the truth?
6)What's missing in my life?
7)God has a plan for my life?
8)Motherhood is part of God's plan?
9)How can I find answers to my life's questions?
10)Does life have to be painful?
11)Does God have more for me?
12)I can be married forever?
13)Does God care about my suffering?
14)Did I exist before this life?
15)What happens to people who've never heard of Jesus Christ?

June 23rd MARK YOUR CALENDARS!!

My mom's friend had the idea of emailing LDS friends of hers to give them an idea for President Hinkley's 97th birthday. I liked it so much I want to pass it on. Anyone who is willing and can, go to the temple on his birthday, June 23rd. We know him as the temple Prophet so what better way to show love and respect for him? Just do your best! :)

Lay on my right side. Lay on my right side. Lay on my right side.

Without a camera to do the talking for me, my brain has been thinking of all the experiences I want written down in my"journal". I am not sure my family has heard this story about Tyler:

I was picking him up at his friends house when I started talking with the friends great-grandma about babies. I told her I would really like another little boy, and she blurts out with, "After you "do it", lay on your right side. It works every time when you want a boy." Tyler overheard, and not understanding about sperm and other such things, he says to me every few weeks, "Don't forget Mom! Lay on your right side! Don't forget!".
(This picture is from last summer at my Jamie's wedding).

What a day.

After reading about my friend Kjersten's exausting day with her kids, I decided to add my own. It started with the inspector showing up at my house at 8:00 am, followed by taking Hailey to cheerleading, and then Hailey and Tyler to swimming lessons. With Tyler, Hailey, Emma, and cousins Maddie, Josh and Thomas, (yes that would be 6 kids and one crazy adult in the car) I decided to go into the car wash. I waited and waited for the red SUV to drive out of the car wash until I got so annoyed I walked into the car wash and looked in the car. There was a very old man passed out (I was hoping alive) in the front seat. I called 911 and opened the door ready to do CPR but he woke up and was really nervous. He sped off and I don't know the end of the story except that I assume he was on some medication and fell asleep at the wheel. SCARY and sad. But I had the 6 kids until the late afternoon, and then decided to go grocery shopping with the Ewoks, Maddie and Emma. Had a full cart, and realized I left my wallet at home. Had to carry the babies on each hip out to the car, return with the check book, and then came home. After FHE, dinner, Tyler ending up sick and asleep on my floor, and doing laundry and packing for Nathan to leave to Denver this morning, I was exausted!!!!
"Through (the) years, mothers go longer on less sleep and give more to others with less personal renewal for themselves than any other group I know at any other time in life. It is not surprising when the shadows under their eyes sometimes vaguely resemble the state of Rhode Island." -Jeffrey R. Holland
Rock on.

Today

So I grabbed 10 boxes out of a dumpster to start packing my books. So far the only use they have had was Tyler and his friends sliding down the stairs with them. I wanted to explain to them that the mattresses from their beds are so much better because they don't break, but I think I will leave that little tidbit of knowledge secret for now.
I am so delighted that my kids still like me. About once a day I blurt out, "march march march" and all three of them start marching around the house. I know the "look" I will get in about 5 years from Hailey when I do that. I will enjoy it while I can.
Nathan and I bought new phones yesterday to use in Vernal. I bought a ring of bawking chickens so that whenever Farmer Nate from Vernal calls, it will sound like a farm. Awesome.
